Sarah is a Master Somatic Movement Therapist who works with people navigating extreme experiences and emotions. Her approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and deeply attentive to the ethical, spiritual, and cultural values of her clients. She works with clients to identify and embody their own visions for themselves and their life. She incorporates a range of somatic modalities into sessions including Mindfulness and Visualization, Alexander Technique, Somatic Parts Work, Authentic Movement, Breath and Voice Work, and Laban. Drawing from her eclectic training and extensive experience working with people navigating complex psyche-soma processes and events, Sarah has created her own ten-phase sequence for integrative somatic work.
Sarah has served as somatic therapist and consultant to leading mental health treatment centers across the US. Her work is supported by current neurobiologically-informed research and theoretical work, including that of Dr. Mark Solms, Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Pat Ogden, Dr. Janina Fisher, Dr. Salman Akhtar, Dr. Allan Schore, and Dr. Jeikko Seikkula. In addition to therapeutic work, Sarah guides creative artists including Pulitzer Prize winners, MacArthur Fellows, and PEN award winners in various therapeutic awareness, expressive, and integrative modalities. She has conducted workshops locally and internationally for arts institutions, high schools and universities, mental health facilities, Fortune 500 companies, and teenagers in detention. Sarah is a protege of Moni Yakim, has a BA from Brown University, an MFA from The Juilliard School, and holds numerous professional accreditations in somatic therapy. She is a registered Master Somatic Movement Therapist with The International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association.
